Putnam County Museum Will Toast DePauw's 175th Anniversary at Annual Gala
July 26, 2012
The theme of the Putnam County Museum's annual celebration will be a "Toast to Both" -- paying tribute to the 175th anniversary of DePauw University and the museum's eleventh year of operation. The event will take place Saturday, August 4, at DePauw's Memorial Student Union Building.
Keynote speakers will be Jinsie Bingham, a member of DePauw's Class of 1956 who serves on the museum's board and as a Greencastle City Councillor, and Steve Setchell, a 1996 DePauw graduate who serves as a major gifts officer in the University's advancement office.
"Our celebration will look back on where and how we started, where we have been -- with a special remembrance of our dedicated volunteer, benefactor and friend, Judge Sally H. Gray -- and where we hope to be in the future," Patty McCastle, co-chair of the event, tells the Banner-Graphic. "We look forward to sharing fond memories of our past and our aspirations for the future."
