Tigers Drop Double Overtime Decision against UC-Santa Cruz

Bloomington, Ill. - DePauw keeper Caroline Kerr turned away 10 shots in the season opener, but UC-Santa Cruz's Sofia Pasarow dropped in the game-winning score in the 108th minute and lifted the Banana Slugs to a 1-0 win over the Tigers. The Tigers dropped to 0-1, while UC-Santa Cruz is now 1-0.

The Banana Slugs held a 7-2 advantage in shots in the first half, while DePauw outshot UC-Santa Cruz by a 6-4 margin in the second half. In the two extra periods, DePauw trailed, 9-3, in shots.

In addition to its 20-11 advantage in shots, UC-Santa Cruz doubled the Tigers in shots on goal with a 12-6 advantage.

Monica Chazen recorded the shutout and finished with six saves.

DePauw faces Adrian College on Saturday at 2 p.m. CDT.
