DePauw Wins Six of Nine Flights at Invitational

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw seniors Reid Garlock and Noah Swiler each won their doubles and singles flights to help the Tigers win four of six singles flights and two of three doubles flights at the DePauw Invitational. There was no team scoring in the two-day event.
It took three sets for Garlock to defeat Indianapolis’ Fausto Cordova in the number-four singles flight bu a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 score. Garlock also paired with David Moss to win the number-one doubles flight against DePauw teammates Ben Kopecky and Sam Miles in three sets 5-7, 6-4, 6-3.
Swiler defeated Bellarmine’s’ Igal Mostkov in three sets to win the number-two singles flight 5-7, 7-5, 6-0. Swiler and doubles partner Alec Kaczkowski took down Ohio Dominican’s Walid Gtari and Tito Bonadonna in three sets 5-7, 6-2, 6-3.
Junior Joe Collins and freshman Nick Makowiecki each won their singles flights in two sets. Collins topped teammate Rico Lumanlan at number-five singles 6-1, 7-6 (8-6) with Makowiekcki topping teammate Andrew Kahn 7-6 (12-10), 6-2 at the number-six flight.
DePauw returns to action next weekend, September 14-16 at the Bradley Invitational in Peoria, Ill.
