Ellis and Shamleffer Lead DePauw to Ninth Straight Win

Springfield, Ohio - Margaret Ellis and Bridgette Shamleffer each scored three goals and led DePauw to a 6-0 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Wittenberg. The Tigers improved to 10-1 overall and 8-0 in the NCAC with their ninth straight win, while the hosts dropped to 2-9 overall and 2-6 in the conference.
Shamleffer gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead at the 7:30 mark before Ellis scored three times in the first half to give DePauw a 4-0 halftime advantage.
Shamleffer's second score came just 48 seconds into the second half and her third was at 46:19. This was the second time this season in which the duo each recorded a hat trick in the same contest.
DePauw outshot Wittenberg 38-5 and held a 21-0 advantage in shots on goal. Maggie Steele posted her seventh shutout of the season, while Alie Marousek had 12 saves for Wittenberg and Jessica Jensen had three.
The Tigers travel to Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday for an 11 a.m. NCAC contest.
