DePauw Extends Win Streak to 11 with Ninth Shutout

Louisville, Ky. - DePauw improved to 12-1 on the season and extended its win streak to 11 with a 5-0 win over Transylvania at Sacred Heart Academy. The Pioneers dropped to 1-11 with the loss.

Chelsea Cutler put the Tigers ahead early as she scored on an assist from Margaret Ellis at 7:04 and then scored, unassisted, at 12:47.

DePauw knocked in three goals in the second half starting with Paige Henry's score at 43:24. Laynie Thomas made it 4-0 at 55:37 on Henry's assist and Ellis closed out the scoring at 64:57 on help from Maggie Campbell.

The Tigers outshot Transylvania, 34-0 and held a 17-0 edge in corners. Maggie Steele recorded the shutout, while the Pioneers' Sara Aschbacher had 22 saves.

DePauw entered the week ranked second in shutouts per game and third in goals against average and the shutout was its ninth of the season.

The Tigers host Oberlin at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
