DePauw Women Lead by 40 after First Day

Greencastle, Ind. - After the first of two days of competition at the 26th annual DePauw Invitational, DePauw holds a 40-point lead over second-place Wittenberg. The Tigers totaled 483 points to Wittenberg's 443. Rhodes is in third with 277 points.
DePauw's 800-yard freestyle relay of Caroline Bridges, Nicole Rossillo, Dana Zerbini and Emily Weber won in a meet record time of 7:47.74, while 200 free relay of Bridges, Courtney Lehmann, Annaleise Dehnke and Rossillo finished second in 1:37.83. The 400 medley relay of Reese Edwards, Allison Kirby, Morgan Graves and Erin Horne was also second in 4:01.92.
Rossillo placed second in the 200 individual medley in 2:10.78, while Kirby was third in 2:13.44. Weber won the 500 free in 5:09.35 after a 5:07.42 time in the prelims, while Zerbini finished second in 5:11.33 with a 5:09.47 in the prelims.
Kirby was second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.74 with Bre Jennings fifth in 1:09.78 and Zerbini sixth in 1:10.57. Edwards was runner-up in the 200 backstroke in 2:07.38 with Emma Haynes fourth in 2:11.33.
Bridges won the 100 free in a meet record time of 52.99 seconds with Rossillo placing third in 54.25 and Horne in fifth in 54.79. Graves placed fourth in the 200 butterfly in 2:14.47.
Prelims for tomorrow's final day begin at 9:30 with finals slated for 4:30 p.m.
