Another Record Falls and Two More Qualify for Evening Competition

Shenandoah, Texas - Sophomore Casey Hooker was seeded 33rd in the 200-yard butterfly, but turned in a school-record performance in 1:49.51 and finished 13th in the prelims of he NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships to assure himself a spot in tonight's consolation finals.

Hooker was one of two  Tigers to earn evening swims as Matt Kukurugya was 11th in 56.40 seconds in the prelims of the 100 breaststroke. Also competing on Friday was Alex Alfonso in the 100 backstroke where he turned in a time of 51.64 seconds to finished 32nd.

Tonight's finals begin at 6 p.m. CDT at the Conroe Natatorium.
