DePauw Women Place Fifth at NCAC Championships

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw's women totaled 75.5 points and finished fifth at the North Coast Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships. Ohio Wesleyan won with 216 points, while Oberlin was second (209), Denison third (90) and Wittenberg (81).

Heather O'Brien earned all-conference honors in two individual events as she was second in the 5,000 meters (18:01.94) and third in the 1,500 meters (4:42.58).

Brittany Sievers scored in a pair of events as she was second in the discus (41.41m) and eighth in the hammer throw (38.74m).

Celia Kauth was second in the high jump (1.62m) and Angela Hacker was fourth in the event (1.57m). Finishing third in the triple jump was Katharine Kondry with a best leap of 10.69 meters, while Jillian Balser tied for third in the pole vault with a best mark of 3.35 meters.

Kathleen Molloy finished fifth in the 800 meters (2:19.38) as did Maggie Royalty in the long jump (5.00m).

Other DePauw scorers included: Lee Harmon (javelin, 7th, 28.68m), Taryn Owens (pole vault, 7th, 2.90m; javelin, 8th 28.24m), Ashley Guevara (3000-meter steeplechase, 7th, 12:26.83), Ellie Pearson (400 meters, 7th, 1:00.16), Katie Doron (1500 meters, 8th, 4:56.79), Ellie Sheffield (100-meter hurdles, 8th, 16.65) and Emma Clor (3000-meter steeplechase, 8th, 12:29.16).

The 4x400 relay of Taylor Brandstatter, Pearson, Nicole Inman and Molloy was fourth in 4:03.93, while the 4x100 relay of Mady Temple, Jasmine Graham, Sheffield and Royalty was sixth in 50.92.

The top three in each event earned all-NCAC honors.

DePauw individuals will compete on May 10 at the Cardinal Twilight at the University of Louisville.
