Ken Owen '82 to Emcee Ceremonies Celebrating 2013's 'Indy PR Legend'

When the Indianapolis Public Relations Society presents its 2013 "Indy PR Legend Award" to Gretchen Wolfram in two weeks, "Ken Owen, executive director of media relations at DePauw University and a former Indianapolis TV news anchor (WISH, WRTV and WXIN) will emcee the award ceremony," notes Inside Indiana Business. Wolfram (pictured below left) , a veteran communicator who served 21 years as communications director for Lilly Endowment before her retirement last September, will be honored at an August 21 luncheon in downtown Indianapolis. Tribute speeches will be presented at the event by N. Clay Robbins, president and CEO of Lilly Endowment Inc.; Eugene R. Tempel, Indiana University Foundation president emeritus and founding dean of the IU Lilly School of Philanthropy; and Ann Rein, the 2012 recipient of the IPRS Legend Award, who worked with Wolfram early in her career.
Formed in 1949, the Indianapolis Public Relations Society is a limited membership organization composed of senior level public relations personnel.

Owen, a 1982 graduate of DePauw, where he majored in communication, is a member and former board member of IPRS. He returned to his alma mater in 2001 after working for two decades in television news as an anchor/reporter. Along with his responsibilities to raise the University's external visibility, he coordinates the Timothy and Sharon Ubben Lecture Series and the annual Monon Bell telecast.
