#25 Titans Take Down Tigers
October 16, 2013
Bloomington, Ill.- The offensive pressure of the 25th-ranked Titans proved to be too much for the Tigers losing 2-0 in Wednesday’s contest. With the loss DePauw dropped to 8-6 overall, while Illinois Wesleyan improved to 9-1-4.
The Titans jumped ahead scoring in the 19th minute when Alison Seger chipped in a pass from Tillie Bill. Seger’s goal would prove to be the game-winner. DePauw prevented any further first-half damage aided by goalie Emma Cooper’s seven saves.
Illinois Wesleyan tallied their second goal with 59:32 on the clock when Amanda Kaiser scored an unassisted goal.
The Titans outshot DePauw 27-3 and held a 5-1 edge on corner kicks. Cooper totaled ten saves in a losing effort.
The Tigers return to action Saturday, October 19, when they take on North Coast Athletic Conference foe Oberlin. Kickoff at Boswell Field is scheduled for 1 p.m. Prior to the start of the game there will be a ceremony honoring the senior class.Back
