Tigers Extend Win Streak to Four With 6-1 Victory

Delaware, Ohio - A flurry of first-half goals propelled the Tigers to a 6-1 North Coast Athletic Conference victory at Ohio Wesleyan this afternoon.
With the win DePauw improved to 14-4 overall and 12-1 in the NCAC, while the Battling Bishops dropped to 5-11 overall and 3-10 in NCAC play.
Paige Henry put the Tigers up 1-0 scoring on an assist from Grace Fisher just 48 seconds in. Micheline Figel redirected a shot from Henry putting DePauw in front 2-0. Figel’s goal proved to be the game winner.
Maggie Campbell added two goals to close out the scoring for DePauw in the first half. Chelsea Cutler added an assist on Campbell’s second goal. The Tigers outshot Ohio Wesleyan 14-0 in the half.
The Bishops were able to cut into the Tiger lead when Sadie Slager scored two minutes into the second half. DePauw’s defense was able to hold Ohio Wesleyan scoreless for the remainder of the game, only allowing two shots in the contest.
Cutler and Henry both added second half goals wrapping up the Tigers’ offense. DePauw outshot Ohio Wesleyan 29-2 and held a 15-1 edge on penalty corners.
The Tigers are back in action Friday, November 1, when they take on Wittenberg. This NCAC contest is scheduled for a 3:30 start.Back
