Cutler and Helms Selected to 2013 Front Rush/NFHCA Senior Game

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw seniors Chelsea Cutler (Victoria, B.C./Mt. Douglas Secondary) and Taylor Helms (Oklahoma City, Okla./Casady) have been selected to participate in the 2013 Front Rush / National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Senior Game on Saturday, November 23 at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex in Virginia Beach, Va.

Cutler and Helms will join 58 other seniors selected from around the country to play in this year’s contest. The Tiger duo was an integral part of the 2012 season where DePauw captured the NCAC regular season and tournament championships and advanced to the NCAA Division III semifinals.

Taylor Helms, a four-year letterwinner, has started in 78 games as a defender during her career. She has earned a number of accolades including: 2010 All-SCAC Honorable Mention, 2010 SCAC Academic Honor Roll, 2010 Great Lakes All-Region First Team, 2011-12 All-NCAC Second Team and 2011-12 Great Lakes All-Region Second Team.

Midfielder Chelsea Cutler is also a four-year letterwinner who has started a school record 79 games for the Tigers. She was voted the 2012 NCAC Defensive Player of the Year in addition to being an All-American Third Team selection. Cutler has a number of other accomplishments including: 2010 SCAC Academic Honor Roll, 2010 All-SCAC First Team, 2010 SCAC Newcomer of the Year, 2010-12 Great Lakes All-Region First Team, 2010-12 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Academic Squad, 2011-12 All-NCAC First Team and 2012 NCAC All-Tournament Team.

Led by Cutler and Helms the Tigers will look to capture another NCAC tournament crown and hopefully make a run for a NCAA Division III Championship. DePauw hosts their first round match of NCAC tournament play Wednesday, November 6. Starting time and opponent are still to be determined.
