Pezzuto and Morrison Named to Capital One Academic All-District Team

Greencastle, Ind. – Jake Pezzuto (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) and Andy Morrison (Bristol, Ind./Northridge) have been selected to the Capital One Academic All-District Division III men’s soccer team. The team is selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The Tiger duo will now have their names placed on the Division III Academic All-America® ballot.
Pezzuto, a junior kinesiology major and Russian studies minor, is a goalie for the Tigers and has started all 19 games this season. He has allowed only 15 goals, while grabbing 58 saves on the year. Pezzuto ranks second in the North Coast Athletic Conference in save percentage (.795) and is fourth in goals against average with .8 goals per game. This season he earned NCAC athlete of the week honors on September 9.
Morrison, a junior economics major, is a three year starter at forward for the Tigers. This season he has totaled 14 goals and seven assists. He ranks first in the NCAC in total points with 35, is tied for second in goals and assists and ranks second in shots with 78. Morrison has been a clutch player for the Tigers netting seven game-winning goals this season.
Pezzuto and Morrison led the Tigers to a 14-2-3 overall record and a 5-2-2 mark in the NCAC and are hoping their season continues in the NCAA postseason. DePauw will learn of their fate Monday at 1 p.m. during the NCAA selection show on NCAA.com.
