17th Ranked Tigers Land Five on All-NCAC Teams

Greencastle, Ind. – After finishing with a 14-2-3 overall record including a fourth place finish in the North Coast Athletic Conference regular season the DePauw men’s soccer team had five student-athletes named to the All-NCAC teams.
For the second straight year junior forward Andy Morrison (Bristol, Ind./Northridge) was named to the first team. Joining Morrison was fellow captain and senior midfielder George Elliott (Naperville, Ill./Benet Academy). Elliott is making his first appearance on the first team after being named to the second team the past two seasons.
Morrison (pictured upper right) led the NCAC in total points with 35 and had a team best seven assists. He was also the co-leader knocking in 14 goals including seven game-winners.
Elliott (pictured below) played a key role in the Tigers’ success this season scoring one goal and adding five assists. His leadership helped DePauw open the season with 10 straight wins and finish ranked 17th in the d3soccer.com poll.
Freshman forward Julian Gonzalez (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) was named to the second team. Gonzalez tied for the team lead with 14 goals and added three assists.
Sophomore midfielder Mitch Reavis (Clarendon Hills, Ill./Hinsdale Central) and junior goalkeeper Jake Pezzuto (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) earned honorable mention selections.
Reavis was a key enforcer in the midfield adding one goal and one assist, while Pezzuto was second in the NCAC with a .795 save percentage and ranked third with a 0.80 goals-against average.
The Tigers season ended after losing a heartbreaker to top-ranked Ohio Wesleyan in the NCAC semifinals. DePauw played the Bishops to a 2-2 tie through two overtime periods before falling 6-5 in a penalty kick shootout. Despite being ranked 17th the Tigers were unable to secure an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III tournament.Back
