Morrison Earns Capital One Academic All-America® Honors

Andy MorrisonGreencastle, Ind. – DePauw junior forward Andy Morrison (Bristol, Ind./Northridge) has been selected to the Capital One Academic All-America® Division III Men’s Soccer Third Team. The team is selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Morrison is majoring in economics with a 3.73 cumulative grade point average through his first four semesters.

On the field, the three-time all-North Coast Athletic Conference selection and two-time first team choice shared the team lead this season with 14 goals and led the Tigers with seven assists for a team-high 35 points. He also delivered seven game-winning goals for the 14-2-3 Tigers. 

BY3R3504Morrison ranks in a tie for fourth in school history with 36 career goals, tied for eighth with 18 assists and tied for third with 90 points. He earned first team all-Great Lakes Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association last year and was a second team choice in 2011.

In all, DePauw student-athletes have earned 49 Academic All-America® honors since Ike Tallman's selection to the 1958 football team. The complete list of DePauw honorees is available here.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
