Ken Owen '82 Discusses DePauw & News Careers in TV Interview

August 3, 2003, Indianapolis, Ind. - Ken Owen, director of media relations at DePauw and a 1982 graduate of the University, discussed his alma mater, the challenges facing higher education, and his two decades as a professional journalist during a half-hour long interview on Indiana Focus.  The public affairs program, hosted by Milt Thompson, airs on WNDY-TV in Indianapolis.

A communication major and Rector Scholar at DePauw, Owen worked in radio and television before joining the college's administration in January 2001.  His TV career included anchoring stints at WISH, WPDS (now WXIN), and WRTV in Indy; WLOS in Asheville, North Carolina; and WANE in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Highlights included an award-winning documentary on the Rev. Billy Graham's 1988 trip to the then-Soviet Union.
