Prof. Lennie Foy Serves as Guest Clinician at HS Honors Jazz Band Festival

Foy_Leonard.JPGOctober 28, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — At the Tri-State Honors Jazz Band Festival, which took place last week on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Superior, the "guest clinician was Lennie Foy, professor of trumpet at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind.," notes an item in Wisconsin's Chetek Alert. The event "featured two honors groups made up of (high school) students selected from schools primarily from upper Wisconsin, along with the Duluth and surrounding areas from Minnesota," notes the newspaper.

Of Professor Foy, the story states, "As a freelance musician, he has performed with famed artists such as Joe Williams, Oscar Peterson, Quincy Jones, Al Jarreau, James Moody and Roland Hanna. He currently records and tours as a member of the internationally acclaimed Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra and the Brass Band of Battle Creek."
