Major Faculty Development Awards and University Recognitions

Some Faculty Development awards (Fisher Course Reassignments, Fisher Fellowships, and Faculty Fellowships) and other university recognitions (University Professorships, Distinguished Professor Awards, and endowed Chairs) carry some combination of salary supplements, project expense funds, professional expense funds, and reassigned time (see the chart below for details).  A faculty member may not receive benefits in one of these categories from more than one award in any given year.  In addition, faculty members may not apply for a Faculty Development award that duplicates a category of award already held.  A faculty member may receive a university recognition that duplicates one of these Faculty Development awards; however, in this case the faculty member may carry the title of the award and recognition, but the benefits of the recognition are delayed until completion of the prior benefit. If one of these Faculty Development awards is given concurrently with a university recognition, the faculty member must choose which one he or she will accept.
