Emergency Management

The Emergency Management Office coordinates various university and community emergency agencies and services to ensure that DePauw University community; including its students, faculty, staff and visitors; are prepared to respond to emergencies, mitigate impact, and recover from any critical incident or situation.

The Emergency Management Office is responsible for developing and maintaining the University Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan, and provides training and information on preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation issues.

During emergency situations, such as a fire, severe weather incident, hazardous materials event, or any critical incident, the University “Critical Incident Response Team” will be activated. The CIRT brings together key university leadership in one room to facilitate sheltering of evacuees, search and rescue, law enforcement, debris removal and much more.
