NCAA holds Hazing Prevention Summit
A Hazing Prevention Summit in conjunction with the NCAA annual convention during Winter Term provided an opportunity to convert concerns about the well-being of student-athletes into action.
The summit, on Jan. 10 in Nashville, Tenn., presented recent hazing research, suggested prevention strategies, and described useful resources for developing policies and programs on campuses, according to a recent article in The NCAA News.

National hazing study conducted interviews here in November
Four researchers from a national study on college hazing visited DePauw Nov. 16 to interview student leaders and staff about student attitudes and behaviors regarding clubs, teams and activities at DePauw.
The interviews are part of the final phase of research for the study, Examining and Transforming Campus Hazing Cultures, being conducted through the University of Maine. About 20 students and five staff members were interviewed.
DePauw students selected at random participated in an on-line survey last spring of about 50 campuses in the second phase of the study. Based on that participation, DePauw was one of 15 campuses in the country chosen for the interview phase. Overall findings of the study should be available this spring. More information is available here.
