DEFINITION: - A skin rash consisting of tiny pus-filled pimples which may turn into dark red painful nodules, often along bathing suit lines. It is caused by a bacterium (Pseudomonas) found in contaminated hot tubs and saunas.
SELF TREATMENT
- This infection often disappears without any treatment, usually in 7-10 days.
- Can take over the counter anti-itch medications to relieve itching.
- Use a white vinegar wet compress on the rash for 20 minutes 2-4 times per day.
- Showering offers no protection against the rash.
