Duplex Lottery
What is a duplex?
A duplex is one of the two-story apartment buildings housing groups of either 4 or 6 students in single rooms. All of the same policies and expectations of University Owned Apartments and Houses (UOAH) apply.
Who can live in a duplex?
Students with senior or junior status are eligible to live in the UOAH. Students must have completed at least 3 semesters.
How do I get into one of the duplexes?
Based on feedback from students on the Housing Lottery Task Force, this year the Duplex Lottery will be two-phased, with both a paper application and a selection event. Students wishing to live in a duplex apartment must submit the Duplex Lottery Application by 4:00pm on Wednesday, April 9. The Residence Life & Housing staff will determine which groups will receive a duplex apartment based on their Group Lottery Number. Groups will be notified by Friday, April 11 of their status within the Duplex Lottery.
Students who receive a duplex apartment will then attend the Duplex selection on Tuesday, April 15 at 6pm in the Terrace Rooms. At this time, the groups will select the actual duplex that they will live in for the fall in Group Lottery Number order. This process will take place on a rolling basis, so groups who will receive a duplex will be notified of their exact selection time.
Students who do not receive a duplex apartment will be able to participate in any of the remaining lotteries (General UOAH, Residence Hall or Substance-Free) depending upon what they indicated on their form during the lottery registration process.
All students must sign-up for the lottery on-line and have a lottery number before submitting an application.
Please be sure to read the Housing Lottery Overview for information about the other housing selection processes.
