Group Living

For many years, Residence Life and Housing offered students the opportunity to apply for Theme Communities which served to support and encourage a group of students who would like to live together based on shared interests or common goals and for those students to share those interests with the campus community through programs and projects. However feedback from students indicated that the need for Theme housing had expired in light of so many other opportunities for students to live together in group housing such as Rector Village or University owned apartments and houses (UOAH).

Because students have still expressed a desire to have a chance to select group housing prior to the lottery process, an alternative Group Living application has been developed. Group Living applications are being accepted now for the 2008-2009 academic year.

We currently offer houses in UOAH accommodating groups of six to ten rising juniors and seniors. Two Rector Village suites, as well as groups of rooms in Lucy and Bloomington Street Halls are available for rising sophomores. Click here to see a floor plan for the Lucy and BSH room groupings. Groups with rising sophomores, juniors and seniors are able to apply for Group Living in the No Event Registration Neighborhood.

If you and your friends are interested in living in Group Living, please read over the Group Living Application. Applications are due by 4:00pm on Monday, February 25. Students will be notified if they have received a theme community space by Friday, March 7. Students who do not receive a theme community space and will require University housing for Fall 2008 must register for the housing lottery by Friday, March 21 on e-Services.
