Rector Village Selection
What is Rector Village?
Rector Village is DePauw's suite-style housing option for upperclass students that offers the opportunity to live in either groups of 5 or 8. The 8-person suites have eight single rooms and the 5-person suites have three single rooms and one double room. Each suite has shared bathrooms and a full kitchen. For more information about Rector Village, please click here. Before choosing a space in Rector Village, please be sure to read over the Policies and Procedures specific to Rector Village.
Who can live in Rector Village?
Students with senior, junior or sophomore status are eligible to live in Rector Village. Students must have completed at least 2 semesters. First-year students are not eligible for housing in Rector Village.
How do I get into Rector Village?
A majority of the suites in Rector Village will be chosen or through the Rector Village Lottery, though two suites are reserved for sophomores in the Group Living application process. A few spaces will also be available in the general residence hall lottery; those spaces can be selected individually or by pulling in a friend.
Students wishing to select a Rector Village suite through the Rector Village Lottery, must complete and submit the Rector Village Lottery application by 4:00pm on Wednesday, April 2. (Groups of 5 students should calculate their Group Lottery Number using the lowest three numbers.) The Residence Life & Housing staff will determine which groups will receive a Rector Village suite based upon their Group Lottery Number. Students will be notified of their status within the Rector Village Lottery by Friday, April 4.
Students who receive a Rector Village suite will be able to explore other options in the UOAH lotteries. However, please note that if any members of your group select a UOAH space, all members of your group will forfeit the Rector Village suite.
Students who do not receive a Rector Village suite will be notified of their spot on the waiting list, determined by their Group Lottery Number, for a Rector Village suite. If a suite would open up, the spaces will be filled based on the waiting list.
All students must sign-up for the lottery on-line and have a lottery number before submitting an application.
