Alcohol
In addition to the policy on alcohol applicable to all residents, possessing, keeping, and/or consuming alcoholic beverages in the shared area of the Rector Village suite is prohibited if a student under the age of 21 resides in the suite.

Cleaning Housekeeping services are not provided for the kitchen or resident rooms. Housekeeping will clean the bathrooms in the suite once per week. In order for bathrooms to be cleaned, residents must have all personal items off the sink area and stored in their locker. Shared areas will be vacuumed by Housekeeping once per week. If the suite requires additional cleaning in the bathrooms or vacuuming of the shared areas, residents carry this responsibility.

Event Registration In addition to the policy on event registration applicable to all residents, any event in Rector Village at which 10 or more guests will be present must be registered, regardless of whether or not alcohol will be present. Registration is required so that student hosts will have the opportunity to understand the responsibilities and liabilities associated with hosting an event. Students are responsible for ensuring that their behavior and that of their guests does not violate policies, laws, or rights of others. Because the actions of guests also impact members of the DePauw community, students assume responsibility for those they host in the community. Parties, events, and other situations involving alcohol may not be held during times at which regularly scheduled classes are in session or on the evening before a day on which classes are regularly scheduled to meet. Occupancy All Rector Village group assignments must be kept at full occupancy. DePauw reserves the right to cancel a housing contract and require the residents to move into residence halls or other University approved housing if the minimum capacity required for the suite is not maintained at all times during the academic year. All rooms in Chabraja, Leis, Montgomery, Reese and Warne Halls are designated as single rooms, and only one person can live in each private room. One room in Holmberg and Strasma halls are designated as double rooms and three rooms are designated as single rooms.

Recreational Equipment Pools and slip-and slides are prohibited. All other stationary recreational equipment must be approved by the Residence Life and Housing Office.

Waste Management DePauw University will provide trash cans or trash dumpsters and recycling containers. All trash should be contained to this designated area at all times. Scattered trash or improper trash storage is not permitted. Trash and recycling should be stored in the designated trash location and will be picked up by housekeeping once per week. If the trash needs to be taken out more frequently, residents are required to take it to the dumpster. Return to index.
