Resident Student Association RSA’s primary purpose is to serve as the voice of students in the residence halls and University-owned apartments and houses at DePauw by serving as the liaison to the Residence Life and Housing office and the University. All students currently living in residence halls and University-owned apartments and houses are members of RSA. Each student is invited to attend meetings and to participate in campus-wide events supported and/or sponsored by RSA.

The structure of RSA consists of three governing bodies: Executive Board, Cabinet, and individual hall/neighborhood councils. The RSA Executive Board consists of the President, Vice President, Public Relations, Social Chair, Director of External Affairs, and the National Communications Coordinator (NCC). RSA Cabinet is made up of the Executive Board in addition to the presidents of individual hall/neighborhood councils. Lastly, the hall/neighborhood councils are composed of students elected from each living unit.

DePauw RSA provides many leadership opportunities for students who want to become involved in the DePauw community. One of the ways to become involved and enhance your leadership skills is by attending RSA conferences. These conferences bring together other students who are affiliated with resident organizations at the state, regional, and national levels.

Hall Councils are one more way that students have to secure a voice for their living unit. Not only do Hall Councils have representation with RSA, but they also have a staff advisor in the Office of Residence Life and Housing who is available as a resource to them. Primarily, Hall Councils represent the needs of the residents to RSA and to the Residence Life and Housing Office. They also serve as a programming body for the halls. Their involvement with RSA makes Hall Councils a wonderful leadership opportunity.
