2008 Summer Housing
Deadline to apply: Wednesday, April 30, 2008

  • All summer students will be housed in University owned apartments or houses.  Eligible individuals must be enrolled as a DePauw student for the 2008-2009 year or be a 2008 DePauw graduate, and be employed by the University during the summer of 2008. 

  • Students must register for a minimum of two weeks.  Students will be charged $24.50 per week ($3.50 per day) plus an additional $75 for the extra cleaning required for use during summer housing and $40.00 for the use of washer and dryer in the unit. 

  • A $75 deposit is required to secure a housing assignment.  This deposit will be applied toward summer account charges. 

  • Spaces are limited. The location of spaces available in UOAH will be determined after the deposit/application deadline. A lottery to select summer housing will be held on Friday, May 9, 2008, at 11am. Deposits and applications must be turned in to the Residence Life and Housing office by Wednesday, April 30 at 4pm in order to participate in the summer housing lottery. Students who do not participate in the lottery will be assigned to a space.

  • Students will be held accountable to all University and residence hall policies and guidelines. Students who violate policy will be held accountable through the University Community Standards.

  • Students will not be required to participate in a University meal plan.  If you are interested in learning more about food service during the summer, contact Steve Santo at x4322.

  • Students accepted for summer housing will be able to check into their UOAH units on a rolling basis based on their first date of work; the last date for move-in is Tuesday, May 27. Students will be notified via email of their move-in date. Students beginning employment immediately after the end of the academic year will remain in their current University housing until they move to their summer housing.  Students not remaining on campus prior to the start of employment must vacate their University housing according to the Residence Life & Housing calendar: residence halls close at 6pm on Thursday, May 15; UOAH units close at 11am on Monday, May 19.

  • Students must be checked out of their assigned space within 24 hours of their last date of summer employment. Students will be notified via email of their move-out date. Students continuing employment until the beginning of the 2008-2009 academic year will remain in their summer housing until they move to their fall University housing.  Students ending summer employment on August 1 must vacate their summer housing by 5pm on Saturday, August 2. Students are responsible for finding their own housing during the interim periods.

  • Limited storage space may be available for students who move out of their Spring semester rooms before the date that they are able to move into their summer rooms.  The University is not responsible for items that students choose to store.  Please contact the Residence Life and Housing office at x4500 for further details.
