Two student directors lead this group of student, staff, faculty, and community members as they help bring victory to the Tigers with an astonishing array of both musical and non-musical entertainment alike!
The Tiger Pep Band, which is composed of musicians from both the College of Liberal Arts and the School of Music, is joined by Tiger Color Guard, also led by two student directors, to provide a dazzling aural and visual display at every event. The Tiger Pep Band & Guard perform for DePauw University football and basketball games as well other campus events, such as Relay for Life, Art Attack, and the Old Gold Parade.
There are no auditions for membership in either the Tiger Pep Band or the Tiger Color Guard, so just contact one of the student directors right away to sign up!
Other groups under the Tiger Pep Band & Guard include, Tyler The Tiger (the University Mascot), the Tiger Drumline, and the Tiger Maniacs (a non-musical spirit group).
In the 2001-2002 season, the Tiger Pep Band traveled on the road with the
women's and men's basketball teams to support them through the Division III
Second Round, Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final 4, and Final Round. At the Final
Round, the Tiger Pep Band teamed up with the neutral Rose Pep Band of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Impressed by the show of sportsmanship,
the NCAA invited the Tiger Pep Band to perform at the 2002-2003 NCAA
Division III Basketball Championships! The Tiger Pep Band also served as the
official pep band of the 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 SCAC Basketball
Tournaments in Memphis, Tennessee, as well as the 2008 SCAC Basketball
Tournament in Conway, Arkansas. The Tiger Color Guard has performed at the
2007 and 2008 tournaments.
