The Society of Biologists were in the spirit of the Monon Bell game, as they facilitated a visit of 3 female tiger cubs in the Union Building, on November 10, 2000. Proceeds of the visit went to the rescue shelter where the cubs live. |
The Society of Biologists is a student run organization dedicated to the science of biology. Anyone is welcome to join S.O.B. A biology major is not necessary, only a love for the science. One of the philanthropies of the S.O.B.'s is the Exotic Feline Rescue Center. The center is a not-for-profit permanent home for over 100 rescued lions, tigers, cougars, leopards, and bobcats. The organization sponsors one of the cats, and members volunteer services on weekends. To become an active member, a small fee of $5 a semester is charged.
