A Short History of the Re-Chartering Group

Let us recount the story of the beginning, or rather, the re-beginning of the Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega. During the summer of 2005, Natalie Holtzinger decided to re-charter the Alpha Upsilon Chapter. She emailed a group of her friends she felt would be interested as well as motivated people to re-charter the chapter. This is how it all began.

From then on the group picked up steam as everyone grew more and more excited about Alpha Phi Omega and about bringing it back to DePauw. The Student Life Office grew more and more tired of seeing Natalie as she relentlessly tried to get papers signed by the authorities of DePauw. She is now known by the Student Life Office as “The Instigator”.

The group picked up speed as we pummeled through the requirements for interest group and petitioning group. Lisa Coop and the rest of the section could hardly keep up. I don’t mean to brag, but we definitely got things done and we did them well.

There were some ups and downs, more ups than downs, and this process has been one exciting ride. We’re definitely proud to be a re-chartered chapter once again.
