Winter Term Information
Hey, Group:
I know that this is rather cold, dry, and commanding...please try to look past my style of informative writing. I wrote this rather quickly to give you the information which you need to conduct a successful JC large-group meeting. I served as the technology coordinator for JC winter term 2004, and this information would have been very useful -- it is the product of a lot of research and running-around just to find out basic information. If you find any useful piece of information missing, please add it in. Remember to pray hard that God guide your efforts -- both individually and collectively. He wants to be there, invite Him in. Spend time praying together as a group a few times before the meeting that God will work. He answers in such incredible ways. God is with you.

- All of the equipment that you need to run the entirety of JC is in the Student Organizations Closet. We have a key to access this closet. Make sure that it gets into the hands of the band members and/or the person in charge of the technology (i.e. laptop, data projector, etc.). JC's material is down one of the isles to the back. Have someone show you where it is.
- JC owns everything that you need to conduct a standard meeting -- Data Projector, extension cords, all necessary cables, all needed band and sound equipment. All of that, as well as the book of song lyrics sheets, can be found in the Student Organizations Closet. If desired, there is a large collection of lyrics printed on overhead transparencies; it is in one of the "overhead" closed cabinets.
- All other materials, such as the stand for the projector and chairs to use for the speakers and laptops are in the closet (middle set of doors) on the west side of the UB Ballroom.
- The only thing you will need to provide is the laptop. Wireless internet should work in the Ballroom.
- Band members will most likely have access to the instruments they need, and you will not need to worry about them. The band is somewhat of an autonomous sub-organization within JC which takes care of its own issues and equipment. They are very adept, and require no supervision or outside organization. They need help with set-up and tear-down, and they need a suggested set of songs to be played during the weekly meeting -- preferably two or three days prior. They need nothing more, unless otherwise stated.
- If you need to rent anything from Instructional Media Services, like a regular overhead projector, VCR or DVD player (although most computers should work for that last), JC's account number for such things is 711005002-3000 under the name "JC Christian Fellowship". If the data projector for some reason is not working, you can rent one from them if you reserve it a 3-4 days ahead of time. However, you should not need to rent anything at all under normal circumstances.
- Be sure that one of the winter term worship band members is familiar with the speaker and sound equipment set-up.
