Community Involvement

Birthday Lists that have the accurate birth dates for all DePauw students are provided to community establishments. These lists assist local alcohol vendors and retailers in reducing the use of fake identification and the amount of alcohol that is purchased illegally.

We continue to work with local alcohol retailers to train servers and bar staff in recognizing alcohol poisoning symptoms and intervention techniques for dealing with problem drinkers. Each semester, Public Safety sponsors an alcohol vendors training program that involves the Indiana Excise Police. One program was held in October, and a second will be held in February.   If you are a vendor interested in participating in this training, please contact Officer Angie Nally at 765-658-4261.
