This morning, as more information becomes available about the shootings at Northern Illinois University, we share the shock and sorrow with our friends and colleagues there and particularly with the loved ones of the victims. Knowing that this tragedy touches members of our own community in a variety of ways, all are invited to gather today at 12:25 pm in the Sanctuary of Anderson St. Hall. This will be a time for us to simply share our reactions, thoughts and feelings. We will also be able to inform you about resources of support that are available on campus.
In addition, the Sanctuary at Anderson St. Hall will be open until 4:30pm today for anyone who would like to pray for the victims and/or share your thoughts/reflections in an open, anonymous journal.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims' families and friends and the NIU community.
