On Wednesday February 6, the University will "TEST" our Emergency Notification system. Our goal is to evaluate our existing notification resources and identify any gaps, shortfalls, and best practices for issuing a prompt and effective alert. The "Test Alert" will include the following methods of notification:

.Public Safety Alert via DePauw e-mail system
.JYNGLE text message alert *
.Notification to Campus Media
.Novell Network Message

You do not need to subscribe to receive the DePauw e-mail, campus media or Novell Network Alerts. You DO need to subscribe to receive a JYNGLE message. If you are not already registered with the JYNGLE text messaging alert system please do so at the following link. http://www.jyngle.com/group/fuJtr6XvIx

You will receive a "Test" message at approximately 10 a.m. simply advising the alert is only a test. At the end of the test we will open a survey link on the DePauw Public Safety Web site http://www.depauw.edu/student/safety for anyone wishing to reply and advise (1) how they received the alert, and (2) the time frame of when the alert was issued. We encourage everyone's participation and feedback as this information will help inform our continued efforts to provide the most efficient and effective notification system.

Thank you for your assistance and cooperation with this test,

Doug Cox
Emergency Management Coordinator

Angie Nally
Director of Public Safety
