| MLK Day Convocation |
|
Monday, January 21
1 p.m.
Moore Theater
Please join us for the campus-wide MLK Day Convocation. Ask yourself, "What can I do to make DePauw a safer, more welcoming environment for all?" This is the question we hope you will think about and begin to answer for yourself after participating in the event.
The event will begin by focusing on the experiences of past DePauw alumni, beginning with Percy Julian and will conclude with small group discussions such as "Creating Communities of Support" and "Surviving and Thriving at DePauw." You'll have the opportunity to hear about some of the experiences of Percy Julian, meet some DePauw alumni and interact in small group settings. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome.
A showing of the full-length PBS documentary on Percy Julian will follow in the evening at 7 p.m. in Watson Forum.
For more information, contact Student Services at 765-658-4023.

| Faculty review |
|
The following faculty member will be considered for review during the spring semester of 2007 – 2008
Tenure & Promotion
Raymonda Burgman – Economics & Management
If you have information you would like to share about your experience with this faculty member, please write to the Committee On Faculty, c/o Carol Cox, Academic Affairs, 305 Harrison Hall. E-mail submissions should be sent to: COFcoord@depauw.edu.
Deadline for letters: Monday, January 28
This committee makes recommendations to the President. Because of the University open file policy, all such submissions will be available to the individual faculty member. Thus, you are asked either to indicate your awareness of this fact in your letter, or to complete an open file form which can be obtained in the Office of Academic Affairs, 305 Harrison Hall or on the COF Web site: http://www.depauw.edu/acad/facgov/COFFiles/COF.asp.
The most helpful letters are those confined to personal experience of the letter writer. Since the criteria for review cover a broad set of categories spread over teaching, professional development, and service, your letter should only speak to your first-hand experience with the faculty member under review. It is neither helpful nor appropriate for a letter writer to make a recommendation for the outcome (e.g., granting tenure or promotion) since that implies a judgment based on incomplete information. A formal recommendation will be made by the review committees upon examination of all lines of evidence contained in the decision file.
