A toy drive for children in need in Putnam County!

Toys are being collected to distribute to the children of Putnam County around Christmas time, many of whom will not receive presents otherwise.  The goal is to collect toys that promote physical fitness, such as basketballs, soccer balls, jump ropes, etc.  Boxes will be set up in various locations around campus, including outside the coaches offices in the Lilly Center, the Fitness Center and the student mailroom in the Union Building.  In addition, many of the resident halls and sorority/fraternities have a collection box.  We would like to have all toys by December 5.

If your house would like a box or if you have any questions, contact mbollero@depauw.edu.  Please consider making a small donation that would have a big impact on a child's Christmas this year.

Groups needed to help with campus luminaries

Tuesday, December 4

It's time again for the annual 5000 Lights Luminaria event on campus, coordinated by the Bonner Scholars Program! Each year at DePauw we dedicate a night to celebrating the spirit of the winter season. Various campus organizations (ie, Greek houses, mentor groups, clubs, departments, etc.) participate by setting up lights in designated areas. This year's luminaria event will coincide with the Greencastle Civic League's annual "Lights of Love" program on the downtown square.

In order to continue this beloved tradition, we need your group to volunteer at least 2 - 3 people to help set up and light luminaries between 5:30 and 6 p.m. in an assigned area of campus. The Bonner Scholar program will provide all necessary supplies, including lighters. If your group is interested in participating, please contact Jean Everage at jeverage@depauw.edu or 765-658-6647 for a commitment form.
