Ralph Nader – consumer advocate, lawyer, activist and three-time presidential candidate. He will present the Timothy and Sharon Ubben Lecture, “Don’t Waste Your 20s! Your Most Creative Decade.” Honored by TIME magazine as "One of the Most Influential Americans of the 20th Century,” Nader has devoted many years to giving ordinary people the tools they need to defend themselves against corporate negligence and indifference.

Want to learn how to knit and fight for a good cause? Come to Knit Knite at the Women's Center! Yarn, needles, and snacks are provided and all skill levels are welcome! We will be knitting scarves to sell to raise money for insecticide treated mosquito nets, the most effective way to prevent the number one killer of children under five in the world - malaria. We will also be knitting squares to make blankets for homeless shelters. Come out for food, friends, fun, and to make a difference!

A performance by Desiree Marshall
With a style that has been described as unapologetic and raw, she fuses childhood experiences with adult lessons and mixes them with Hip Hop rhymes. Snacks will be provided. Desiree attacks hard issues such as socio-economics, education, and the prison system, as well as love, sex/sexuality, and relationships. In 2003 she earned a spot on the Urban Word NYC Youth Slam Team. The following year she competed in St. Louis at the adult National Poetry Slam with the Nuyorican National Slam Team, as well as being named a 2004 Nuyorican Grand Slam Finalist. Desiree is the reigning champion of the Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Slam in New Haven, CT.
