"I am a junior Geology major with a minor in Anthropology.  On campus, I am the Vice President of Chapter Relations and Standards of Alpha Chi Omega and I am a member of the Science Research Fellows.  In the past, I have served as the Vice President of Finance and the Intramural Sports Representative for Alpha Chi Omega and was a member of the DePauw softball team.  Outside DePauw, I am a volunteer assistant Girl Scout leader in the Greencastle community.

DePauw offers many beneficial semester and summer research opportunities.  Professors are actively searching out students who are interested in all realms of research, particularly in the sciences.  Because I am a member of the Science Research Fellows program, I have had multiple opportunities to dabble in a variety of projects, from milkweed genetics in the Nature Park to geologic mapping in northeastern China to creating a GIS (Geographic Information System) database for the St. Francois Mts. in Missouri.  Conducting research is something I truly want to continue after graduation and the experience I have built over the past three years will prove beneficial when I begin applying for graduate schools."
