Deadlines & Tasks to Complete for First-Year Students

All incoming students must complete the following by the deadlines indicated. Please note that some of these tasks cannot be completed until later in the summer.

  1. Submit your course requests.   While you are welcome to start exploring courses, please mark your calendars for a general advising and course request webinar that will take place at 7 p.m. EST on Tuesday, May 23; you can join the webinar here. We will also offer a science and pre-health advising webinar at 7 p.m. EST on Thursday, May 25, which you can join here. We recommend that you view the webinar prior to submitting your course requests.

    Instructions on how to request courses are available in your portal in e-Services. You will be asked to list eight first-year seminars and 10-15 other courses you are interested in. Students in the Honor Scholar Program will be assigned to a specific first-year seminar and will not need to request one. This summer, we will enroll you in a First-Year Seminar and two additional courses. Then when you are on campus for New Student Orientation in August, you will select your fourth course with your academic advisor. 
         (Complete between May 12 - June 26). 
  2. Complete a housing preference form through Residence. Instructions are available in your portal in e-Services. To log in to Residence, use your full DePauw e-mail address as your username, and your DePauw network password will be your password. You will need to allow 24 hours after you establish your net work password before it will work in Residence. If you have questions, please email Campus Living and Community Development.     
         (Complete between May 12 - June 9).
  3. Access CASHNet and create a Third Party PIN for parents/guardians or third parties needing access to your billing account for invoicing and payment of your student account balance. Instructions will be available in your portal in e-Services on June 1. Questions can be directed to the Cash Receipts Office at 765-658-4015. Additional information can be found here

  4. View the Diversity and Inclusion at DePauw Video.
        (Available early June). 
  5. Complete the online activity, "What is it like to come to DePauw?" Instructions will be available in your portal in e-Services later this summer.
         (Complete between June 12 - 26).
  6. Complete a Student Health Record Form and mail it to DePauw Health. Students must have this form submitted in entirety in order to register for classes. Details on the immunization policy can be found here. Questions can be directed to the Wellness Center at 765-658-4555.
         (Complete by July 1).
  7. Request that your final high school transcript be sent to the Office of Admission. Questions can be directed to the Office of Admission at 765-658-4006.
         (Complete by July 1). 
  8. Follow these steps to make your Student ID.
         (Complete by July 31). 
  9. Complete your Tiger Tracks profile. Tiger Tracks is your online connection for jobs, internships, and information on Hubbard Center programs and events. We ask that you complete your profile, which will ensure we provide you with information that is relevant to you. Please complete your profile here. You can log in to Tiger Tracks using the same log in information you use for your portal. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Hubbard Center at (765) 658-4622.   
         (Complete prior to arriving on campus).  
  10. Purchase a laptop and complete the student technology checklist.
         (Complete prior to arriving on campus). 
  11. Complete the Common Read and Writing Assessment. Instructions will be available in your portal in e-Services later this summer.     
         (Complete between July 10- August 4).
  12. Complete Every Choice, an online program that helps reduce sexual violence by teaching bystander intervention skills. Instructions will be available in your portal in e-Services later this summer. Questions can be directed to the Office of Student Academic Life at 765-658-4270.
         (Complete between August 4-17). 
  13. Verify that you have health insurance that is valid in central Indiana. It is highly recommended that students carry health insurance. Evidence of insurance is required for participation in intercollegiate athletics. If you need insurance, please visit or call 1-800-318-2596.
         (Complete prior to arriving on campus). 

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: International students should complete the international student checklist. 
          (Complete by July 1 ).
