Important Dates

Information about arrival dates & hall closings for current students living in university-owned housing

2011-2012 Housing Calendar
Saturday, August 20, 2011 Opening Day for first-year students. Check-in from 8 a.m. to Noon
Sunday, August 21, 2011 Opening Day for upper class students. Check-in from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday, October 15-Sunday, October 23, 2011 Fall Break: All housing remains open.
Wednesday,  November 23-Sunday, November 27, 2011 Thanksgiving Break: Students wishing to stay in the residence halls, Rector Village, or University Owned Apartments and Houses must register to stay with Campus Living and Community Development by November 15. Students who live in the Residence Halls or Rector Village and do not register to stay will need to depart by 9 AM on Wednesday, November 23.
Friday, December 16, 2011-Tuesday, January 3, 2012 Winter Break: Residence halls, including Rector Village, close at 8:00PM on Dec. 16 and reopen at noon on Jan. 3. Students who wish to apply for an extension until 9am on Dec. 17 must do so in the Campus Living office in Anderson Street Hall by Dec. 8. UOAH housing remains open. 
Saturday, March 24-Sunday, April 1, 2012 Spring Break: All housing remains open.
Thursday, May 17, 2012 End of the Year Closing: Residence halls and Rector Village close at 6 p.m. for students not participating in commencement*. Students who wish to apply for an extension until 9 AM on Friday, May 17 must do so in the Campus Living & Community Development Office by May 9. 
Monday, May 21, 2012 End of the Year Closing: All University housing closes at 11 a.m.

*Residence halls are used for housing families of graduating seniors during commencement weekend and therefore must be closed immediately following the end of exams for students not participating in commencement in order to prepare rooms for the weekend.
