Fun Fact: I lived in Africa for eight years 


Michael Chavez

 

Hometown: Chicago, IL

Major: Currently undecided at the moment but leaning towards Anthropology and Education Studies

Extra-Curricular activities: DePauw Community Service group, Bonner Scholar, Posse Scholar, and AAAS.

Fun Fact: I won a hula hoop contest at the Taste of Chicago when I was in fourth grade, and the skills are still there!

 

Ricardo Flores

 

Hometown: Chicago, IL (Little Village Area)

Major: Sociology

Extra-Curricular activities: HelpDesk Support Consultant, Chicago Posse Scholar, Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity, Inc., Multicultural Greek Council , Art of Stepping: Indiana Chapter Pro Member

Fun Fact: I love to cook multiple things at once because it keeps my feet moving.

 

Ronnie Kennedy

Hometown: Queens, NY

Major: Political Science

Extra-Curricular activities: DePauw Debate Society, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Little Theater at DePauw, and the Prindle Institute for Ethics.

Fun Fact: I spent last summer teaching Math at a Summer Academy in Brooklyn to students who could probably out-Math me any day. 


Shavon Mathus

Major: Education Studies Minor Psychology 

Extra-Curricular activities: Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. President, Hall Assistant for Campus Living and Community Development (CLCD), Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society, Gospel Choir, Campus Tour Guide

Fun Fact: I taught kindergarten at an all girls charter school.


Abbisola "Abbi" Oxley

Hometown: Brooklyn, New York.

Major: My intended majors are Political Science and Black Studies.

Extra-curricular Activities: Association of African American Students (AAAS) as their new Education Chair. I am also a Bonner Scholar, a Posse Scholar, and I will be the new Resident Advocate for the AAAS house.

Fun Fact: I helped the University plan its first Black Women's retreat. I cannot wait to see all of you in the Fall!
