Orienting the Class of 2016
New Student Orientation for the Class of 2016 begins on Saturday, August 18 and concludes on Tuesday, August 21. The first day of classes for all students is Wednesday, August 22.
Students are able to begin moving into their residence halls at 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 18. We hope that parents and guardians will join us during the day on Saturday for the festivities, featuring Opening Convocation. Parents will be able to depart campus at approximately 5:30 p.m.
A full New Student Orientation schedule will be posted in July, but here is a sneak peak at opening day.
| 8 a.m. | Move into your residence hall room, get your student ID and parking pass, and visit the Tent on the Green for various campus resources |
| 11 a.m. | Parent Orientation on billing and payments, financial aid and accessing academic records |
| 11:30a.m.-1p.m. | Picnic lunch for students and their families |
| 2:30 p.m. | Students assemble for Opening Convocation Processional |
| 3 p.m. | Opening Convocation, featuring a welcome from President Brian W. Casey |
| Post-Convocation | Students meet with their advisors |
| 4:45-5:45 p.m. | Family good-byes |
| 6 p.m. | Class kick-off dinner, residence floor meetings, and First Night social event |
