4/23/03 -- Liz Shafer, CEO and Owner of "Hope's Way Retreat Center" accepts a check for $110 from WGRE Winter Term Promotion Director Patti Quackenbush. Hope's Way is a retreat center for special needs kids and their families, as well as low-income and at-risk kids.

4/8/03 -- Sue McCune, treasurer of the Putnam County Food Pantry, accepts a check for $1,254 from Natalie Deer and Andy McGovern. The money was raised during a 48-hour marathon to benefit the Food Pantry last spring.
