In Residence at DePauw:
Judith Malina and The Living Theatre

Two events will highlight a spring visit by members of the internationally famous theatre company, The Living Theatre. On Thursday, March 13, at 8:30 p.m. in the UB Ballroom, Judith Malina and Hanon Reznikov, Artistic Directors of The Living Theatre, will speak on the artistry of the first fifty years of The Living Theatre.  Their talk, "Love and Politics," is presented in conjunction with DePauw's National Undergraduate Honors Conference in Communication.

Performances of "A Day in the Life," a production created by members of the DePauw Community with guidance from The Living Theatre members, Jerry Goralnick and Lois Kagan-Mingus will be offered Friday and Saturday, March 14-15 at 7:30 p.m. in Kerr Theatre. This is a return engagement for The Living Theatre, who offered this workshop at DePauw in 2005 to packed houses.

The Living Theatre is one of the most provocative, dangerous, and thought-provoking experimental theatre groups of the last fifty years.  Founded by Judith Malina and Julian Beck in 1947, they continue to perform internationally, from Eastern Europe to Brazil, ever pursuing their goal of enacting the "Beautiful Nonviolent Anarchist Revolution" through theatre. More information about The Living Theatre can be found at http://www.livingtheatre.org
