There will be parking for individuals with disabilities on Larabee Street near Harrison Hall. There is a cul-de-sac at the end of the street, which is a convenient drop-off and pick-up location. A member of Public Safety will be available to greet you and to direct you to parking. Handicapped parking is available in designated spots throughout campus, on Larabee Street, and in the adjacent Olin Parking Lot. In the event that we need to hold graduation inside due to inclement weather, a shuttle will be provided from these parking areas to the Lilly Center.
A hospitality tent on the East College lawn provides information and serves as a cooling station. DePauw Health Services staff will also be available for first-aid attention and other emergencies. A limited number of wheelchairs will be available at the tent, and can be reserved by e-mail prior to your arrival: dhightower@depauw.edu.
We have approximately 80-100 seats reserved for family members and friends who cannot walk long distances and need to be seated near the stage. We hope that you can appreciate how important it is given the small number of seats in this section for people to only sit here if absolutely necessary and to also be mindful of others. There is no reservation needed, just first come, first serve. We suggest that you identify a seat in this section early. Clearly, these numbers are severely reduced if we need to have the ceremony inside.
The Senior Convocation, Multifaith Baccalaureate and Commencement Exercises will all be signed by sign language interpreters. There will also be a couple of golf-carts running throughout campus to assist people as they move from one location to another on Commencement Day.
If you or a family member are a person with a disability and wish to arrange for special services or discuss any of these options further, please do not hesitate to contact Diane Hightower at (765) 658-6267 on or before May 1.
