Held bi-weekly in the Women’s Center, Taco Thursdays provide opportunities to talk about world and community issues while enjoying healthy, organic food. Taco Thursdays are open to the entire campus community.
Peace Camp
Peace Camp is a week-long, 24-hour vigil in DePauw’s academic quad during the first week of October. Students gather to raise awareness, foster discussion, and educate themselves about a variety of issues. Faculty, staff, and guest speakers often facilitate the discussions. Some past program topics include:

WGRE Radio Show
Tune into WRGE Wednesdays at 5 p.m. for the "Compton Connection" hosted by intern Kevin Pereira and coordinator Valerie Rudolph. The show highlights progressive campus events, alternative news, social justice topics, and an eclectic mix of music. Guests are often invited to the show to talk about a variety of subjects. Past guests include Professor Brett O'Bannon and Compton Interns Jessica Holmes, Rebekah Turner, Haley O'Brian, and Sara Doody. On October 31, Professor Jen Everett will be on the show talking about Sustainability and Focus the Nation.
Local Food Initiative
Beginning in the spring of 2006, Compton Interns began working to bring local food into DePauw's dining services. Student interns contacted local farmers to gauge interest, compiled a list of potential farmers with whom DePauw could colaborate, and opened the lines of communication with Sodexho, DePauw's food service provider. After three semesters, we have had some successes, but we still have a lot to do! If you are interested in getting involved, contact the Compton Center.
