Are you purchasing a new computer and wondering what to do with your old one? Do you have a computer that has been sitting around in disuse? How about an old printer or scanner?
A donation to CTEP can place your old computer in the hands of those who may never have had the benefits of owning a personal computer. Your donation can help to bridge the digital divide in the greater Putnam County area.
CTEP accepts donations of desktop computers, laptops, scanners, computer speakers, and computer parts such as CD-ROM drives and modems.
CTEP has the following minimum standards for computers donated to the program:
- Pentium III processor - 500MHZ and Higher
- 32 MB RAM
- 10.0 GB hard drive
CTEP staff will use their discretion to determine if equipment can benefit the program.
If your computer is below our program's standards, CTEP advocates the proper recycling of computer equipment. For environmentally responsible ways to dispose of your old computer equipment, visit our recycling page.
Other items sought:
PRINTERS!!! There is a high demand for printers among our applicants, but CTEP's current printer inventory is depleted. Deskjet printers by such manufacturers as Hewlett Packard, Lexmark, and Epson are greatly welcomed.
