FITS Summer Interns: Faculty Support Assistants
Faculty
Support Assistants work with full time FITS staff to
- Provide
one-on-one assistance with faculty learning new technology skills,
e.g., Scanning images, digitizing video, using Photoshop or web
authoring software, etc.
- Assist FITS
staff with developing, scheduling and presenting workshops for
faculty and students
- Develop
job aids and user guides for using FITS center software and equipment
- Develop and
maintain web sites for the FITS program and related projects
- Participate
on project teams involved with faculty who integrate technology
into teaching
- Perform administrative
support and other office tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Excellent
communication skills
- Enthusiasm
for collaborating with others in your work setting
- Familiarity
with using desktop PCs and standard productivity software. E.g.,
WordPerfect, Word, Netscape, or E-mail, etc.
- A positive
"Can do!" attitude to learning new software and technologies
- Positive
work ethic and attention to detail
- Some experience
with multimedia authoring or specialized software and equipment
(desired, but not required). E.g., PhotoShop, Dreamweaver, FrontPage,
video editing, Director, or web databases, etc.
