Enhanced Discussion Methods:  Podcasting, Tweets, and Wikis

Ray examined ways to use podcasts, tweets, and/or wikis to facilitate student learning of economics as a language and vehicle for social change.  She hopes to teach students how to use these tools as a form of active learning to inform others about economic issues such as environmental terrorism, factory and corporate sweatshops, sustainable supply chains, child soldiers and genocide, and more.

Contextualized Exercises for Learning Japanese Using Tablet PC

Hiroko worked on a project to create “contexts” to teach Japanese honorifics, using manga-style format (comics) on the Tablet PC.  The best way to learn this social/linguistic system is to practice honorifics in various situations.  The manga-style strip will provide students with practice of honorifics in a visually contextualized fashion.

Theater Research and Resources Web Page

Tim create a Web page for Theater performance classes as a resource for students to supplement class lessons.  This Web page utilizes videos to enable students to see examples of exercises and activities to ensure they are practicing correctly.

Digital Imagery for Mythology Courses

Dave's researched ways to incorporate images and video into his teaching in mythology courses through the use of image editing software and video.


Jeff Hansen

Java, Javascript, and SVG for Web Applications in Organic Chemistry

Jeff migrated previously-developed web applications for his organic chemistry courses to more current Web technology. In the process of doing this, Jeff also augmented the capabilities of these applications.

Web Sites

Kelsey continued the development of several Web sites created in collaboration with her students on projects such as Indiana Drug-Free Zones, the Innocence Project, history of the Indiana Women’s Prison, and environmental policy.


Keith Tonne

Music and Video

Keith learned to use and process audio files and videos more efficiently for use in the music studio and in the classroom.


Michele Villinski
Economics & Management

Getting Up To Speed in Moodle & Netvibes

Michele examined ways to utilize Moodle in her Economics courses and make the transition from Blackboard after being off campus for the past year. She also created a Netvibes resource to share media and online resources with students and colleagues.
