Instructional (I:) Drive

The Instructional Drive (I:) provides storage space on the network for instructors to use in teaching courses. For each requested course I: drive, a folder is created that both the instructor and students in the course can access.

Common uses for course I: Drives:

  • Providing students additional network space for large or collaborative course projects
  • Submitting and returning student assignments
  • Posting course materials or restricted web sites

Requesting an I: Drive:

When possible, I: Drives should be requested prior to the first week of classes. Requests are processed within 5 working days of submission.

Purpose:
\student \exp10101
\exp10102
\exp10103
Individual student's folders.
The designated student and the instructor have read/write privileges.
\private \private Only the instructor has privileges (read/write). Students cannot access.
\public \public This folder is read-only for students and read/write accessible to instructor. This is where a restricted course web site can be published.
\workshop \workshop Everyone in the class has read/write privileges to this folder. It is useful for students working on collaborative projects.
